Tom Blake was the first person to take the solid redwood boards and make them hollow, lighter and much faster

This is the board that Tom Blake and Pete Peterson designed and then Tom Blake gave the plans to Craig Lockwood to take from wood to foam. With the help of Tom Morey, Craig transcribed the plans to produce what is known as the Blake/Peterson Waterman.

The tail of the Blake/Petersen which became the nose of the Waterman Racing Paddleboard. In 1992 Brendon Shea won first place overall in the Catalina Classic on a stock Waterman. That has never happened before or since then.
